If you need more detailed information, please keep reading but if you just want to start using your Gecko:

First, choose the plan you want to connect to.

Then, activate the SIM card. A Gecko will only connect to a network with a Gecko SIM card (no other SIM cards). This comes pre-installed in a Gecko phone, so you don’t have to worry about doing this yourself. You can get the complete low-down and activate your SIM by completing the secure online form in the Activate your Gecko section of this site!

The 3 Easy Steps to Gecko Cost Control

1. Choose between 3 simple plans that you'll have to go a long way to beat! 
    
   • **All our plans come with 10 included Gecko Minutes — these can be used as voice calls to other Geckos and services connected to Gecko plans only. Gecko Minutes expire at the end of the applicable billing period.
   • All other standard calls are charged at 20c for 30secs (for Gecko-to-Gecko special rates, see details above).
   • Geckos are especially designed for kids so they can’t send or receive SMS or MMS.
   • Leaving the contract early involves cancellation fees, and taking out a plan requires a credit card and standard credit check.
   • Costs are controlled with parent text alerts (see the Gecko-lerts part of the site) and bills will be emailed to you monthly.#
      

   

   

   

2. Enjoy the freedom to switch between plans and be able to do it once a month for the entire contract period!
   Say, for example, you started off on the Happy Wallet Plan, but then find out your child loves to talk... lots! Simply switch to the Rest Easy Plan and know that in most cases, you'll only be paying $29.95 a month.  Just tell us you want to switch during the month and the new plan will take effect from the billing anniversary - usually the 15th.
    
3. The nothing to hide print:
   A gecko only works with its included Gecko SIM card (no other SIM cards) on a 24 month contract and either a $19.95 or $29.95 monthly plan - making the total minimum commitment $478.80 on the $19.95 plan, or $718.80 on the $29.95 plan - plus cost of the handset. (Note: Free switching between plans during the contract period may result in a different 24 month total.) There's no connection fee and 35 mins of standard calls are included a month on the $19.95 plan, and 70 mins included on the $29.95 plan. There's no roll-forward of unused monthly minutes and standard calls over the included monthly minutes are charged at 20c per 30secs, with no flag fall. Geckos can't send or receive SMS or MMS and they're delivered on teh Vodafone network. Leaving the contract early involves cancellation fees, and taking out a plan requires a credit card and standard credit check.
