How to:

Change ring tunes:
Get your Gecko to make different ring tunes when your Mum, Dad or someone from your Gecko Tree calls you:

1. Press and hold the Send key until you see Enter PIN. (“PIN” stands for “personal identification number.” Don’t worry though, you don’t have to enter one.)
2. So . . . choose SKIP.
3. Scroll through the options by pressing -> until the display says Ringers.
4. Press OK. Pick which key you want to give a ring tune to by pressing ->.
5. Press OK. A ring tune choice will appear on the display. Listen to the first ring tune.
6. If you want to hear more ring tunes, press ->.
7. Press OK when you hear the ring tune you want to use. The display will say the word Saved to show that Gecko has recorded your choice.
8. Press <- to go back to the Ringers menu, then -> until you reach EXIT. This lets you go back to the normal Gecko display.

Change display colours:
To give a unique display colour to your Mum, Dad or someone from your Gecko Tree, just do this:

1. Press and hold the Send key until you see Enter PIN. Choose SKIP.
2. Scroll through the options by pressing -> until the display says Display Colours.
3. Press OK. Pick which key you want to give a colour to by pressing ->.
4. Press OK. The colour choice will appear on the display.
5. Check out the first display colour. If you want to choose it, press OK.
6. If you want to see more colours to choose from, keep pressing ->.
7. Press OK when you see the colour you want to use. The display will show the words Saved to show that Gecko has recorded your choice.
8. Press <- to go back to the Display Colours menu, then -> until you reach EXIT. This lets you go back to the normal Gecko display.

Change animation:
When your Gecko Fireworks goes off, you want to make sure you’ve chosen your favourite animation. This is how you do it:

1. Press and hold the Send key until you see Enter PIN. Choose SKIP.
2. Scroll through the options by pressing -> until the display says Options.
3. Press OK, then scroll by choosing -> until the display says Animation.
4. Press OK, then scroll through the list until you find an animation choice you want to try.
5. If you want to pick that animation, press OK.
6. If you want to see more animation choices, press ->. Then choose OK when you find the animation you want.
7. The display will show the words Saved to show that Gecko has recorded your choice.
8. Press <- to go back to the Animation menu, then -> until you reach EXIT. This lets you go back to the normal Gecko display.

Use call waiting:
If you get a new call while you're talking to someone else:

1. Your Gecko phone will beep.
2. The Display will show you the new number and give you an option to swap calls.
3. If you decide to take the new call, press the key under the word SWAP.
4. When you're finished talking to that caller, just press the End key. The call on hold (that's the first person you were talking to) will automatically be reconnected.
5. When you're ready to end that call, just press the End key again.
   See missed calls:
   Your Gecko phone will tell you how many calls you've missed since you've been away from your phone.

1. To ignore the list of missed calls, choose IGNORE.
2. If you want to see the list, choose READ.
   You can use -> to see all the calls you missed. Then choose <- to return to the normal display.

Use the emergency call button:

1. Press and hold the emergency call button for 3 seconds.
2. Release the button when you see Emergency? appear on the display.
3. Press the Send key to make the call.
4. Press the End key to hang up.

Use the Manual Reset option:
Gecko phones rarely lock up or freeze. But just in case yours does, here's how to reset it manually:
Turn off your phone. Ask an adult to help you remove the rear and front covers (see the next section Changing Gecko’s Skin) and press the reset button. This will turn the mobile phone off. Replace the covers and turn the phone on. It should work properly now.

Change Gecko’s Skin:

1. Put Gecko to sleep by turning it off. Push up on the release button on top and remove the Skin from the back of Gecko.
   
2. Remove the front Skin by turning Gecko upside down and pressing on the Mum and Dad keys and gently pulling the Skin off towards you.
   
3. Put the new front Skin on. Match up the picture keys and side buttons with the Skin.
   
4. Gently press the front and back Skins together until they click into place.
